Papua New Guinea - Mile High

Grade AA

Mile High is the grade A offering from the Arokara co-op. Grown in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea at an altitude of 5,000 feet above sea level. The trees consist of mostly bourbon, typica and arusha varietals and the beans are wet processed. Only slightly in body than Javas, good PNG has delicate notes, complexity, and low acidity; high on sweetness. Makes an excellent base for an espresso blend.

Although not officially labeled as organic, the farmers use no chemicals and only natural fertilizer (sheep dung!).

Cupping Notes: cardamom spice, pine, mild stone fruit. very clean cup, full body. Sweet lingering aftertaste.

Roasting Notes: City to Full City. A lighter roast will bring out delicate sweet wine notes. Darker roast makes for malt and cedar.

Note: these are unroasted green coffee beans
