From the Reje gayo co-op, located
in central Aceh, Indonesia. Reje Gayo is a mill servicing a number
of smallholder farmers in this region. Most of these farmers have
tiny pieces of land also planted with avocado, orange, guava cinnamon,
and even banana. The avocados and bananas act as coffee shade plants.
Variety: Various Catimor types. Semi-washed. Grown
at altitudes of 1200-1600 meters above sea level.
Roasting Notes: City ++ to Full City.
For espresso hounds, try roasting it lighter to say, City +. Even
at this lighter level, shots remain easy to pull - just pack the
heck out of it with a strong tamper (40-50 lbs is not too much!).
This makes for a huge amount of crema and very buttery, sweet mouthfeel
when it's done right.
