Coffee Equipment Cleaners
We
can't say it enough: Keeping your coffee brewing equipment
clean is a must if you want to have consistently great
coffee. Without proper cleaning and periodic de-scaling,
rancid build-up and mineral deposits form inside of
areas such as water pick-up tubes, frothing wands, and
nooks and crannies that are virtually inaccessible to
brushes. Mineral build-up can also cause brewing temperatures
to decrease in drip brewers, which will also affect
the taste of the coffee. We recommend cleaning your
equipment (both brewers and espresso machines) at least
once a week with the Urnex products listed below. These
are commercial-grade detergents that do an excellent
job of cleaning and are also easily rinse-able, unlike
home dishwashing detergent, which must be rinsed and
rinsed again to eliminate both the soap and the "fragrance"
that manufacturers put in the detergent. |

Cafiza Espresso
Machine Cleaner -
Concentrated formula eliminates residue
in group heads, valves, and lines.
Integral to the daily back-flush regimen
for espresso machines that see high volume

This is an excellent product for soaking

with 1 liter of water to make a good cleaning solution.
If you use hot water when making the solution, the cleaner
works even better.

Clearly Coffee
- Glass Bowl and Airpot
Coffee Cleaner.
Cleans and removes coffee oils and inhibits
mineral deposits.
For glass bowls, airpots, satellite brewers, and thermal
servers.
Powder offers accurate portion control.
Each packet contains 1/4 oz. of cleaning powder which
will make up to 1 1/2 gallons of cleaning solution.
Dutchman's Tip: For glass bowls
and airpots; simply fill up the container you want to
clean with hot, brew-temp water and pour the contents
of a package into the container. Swirl or agitate the
water for about 10 seconds and then let it sit for about
10 minutes and presto! Pour the water out and
rinse the container a couple of times. We store our
roasted coffee in glass jars. After washing the jars
with regular dishwashing liquid, the jars still have
a somewhat rancid smell to them. Clearly Coffee
works really good on these jars.........fill
the jars with solution, let sit for 5 minutes, and rinse.
No more odors, guaranteed!
You can even clean your brewer and vessel
at the same time by simply pouring the contents of a
package in the brew basket (with no filter) and run
a brew cycle. When your done, we recommend running a
"blank" brew cycle using only water (no filter
or coffee). This will remove any residual detergent.
One order of 12 packets will last three months if used
on a single brewer or vessel weekly - this is a real
bargain! |

Nylon Bristle
Brush - great to use as an "espresso brush"
A must have for cleaning those hard to reach areas
of espresso machines. The bristles are stiff enough
to break loose "unwanted nasties" that tend
to accumulate between portafilters and group heads.
